Education abroad is a state program. The Global Education. How to get a scholarship

We have been working with EFL for three years now and are not looking for another partnership.

I would like to thank the EFL team for the good, high-quality and timely work and help in choosing schools for my children.

I would like to note that the choice of schools when you are in Russia and in England are two big differences. But the employees successfully combine and coordinate actions, looking for options based on the interests of the client and the characteristics of children in Russia, call the schools and appoint an audience with a detailed view of all issues of interest in England.

I have been working with the company since February 2015. To date, we have reviewed and worked out about 30 options, taking into account my requests from huge amount schools. We visited 6 of them personally, having talked with the directors, staff and children, negotiated with some of them, some dropped out due to the remoteness or mismatch of the requested interests and the lack of places for both children.

The problem is that I have two children 12 and 13 years old who are studying in England, and when changing schools, you need to take into account and compare a lot of points so that the change does not become negative. That is why qualified help in choosing schools was so important to me.

It is very valuable that Alice Thompson, with whom we went directly to schools, lives in England herself and has been working with schools for several years. He also has daughters, one of whom is studying at an English school. personal experience in this matter. And also there is no rush and "race" in the adoption of such important decision... There is no pressure from the company for you to quickly decide.

On the contrary, there is a desire to see an unambiguous certainty in the choice and then gradually build up work with the school that you want to get into. The simplicity of communication and human contact, both with parents and with children, are very captivating. At any time, you can ask for advice and help not only in choosing a school, but also in choosing a strategy and tactics for admission to educational institution at any stage or when choosing a tutor.

The girls who initially selected the options were very polite and punctual in making and sending tables and making appointments in schools. Special thanks for that.

V this moment we continue to cooperate.

For those who seriously want to approach the issue of choosing a school for their child, I highly recommend this company. I had experience of cooperation with large Russian companies in the field of study abroad. They are good specialists, but they have very little practical experience going to school for days or hours. And in this case, being in Russia, they will help you choose the options, and then you can examine everything with your own eyes in England in the company of not only a translator, but also a competent and competent EFL specialist.

Good luck to everyone in this difficult, but I'm sure worth it business.

When my parents suggested that I transfer to English school, I decided that it will help me in my learning, so I can get a good experience. - this is a wonderful school in Great Britain, there are wonderful people here, with a measure of humor, and the school is also in excellent condition.

The first day of school was not as fun as we would like, but when you get used to it, you are very glad that you are here. At first I did not experience any difficulties, if anything, then they will help everywhere without any problems.

Very soon I noticed that my speaking and understanding in English became much better. It became easier for me to communicate. We have an international college, and I made friends with both Russians and guys from other countries. We regularly visit different cities in England, and sometimes there are separate trips to London.

It is difficult to compare education in Russia and England. Education abroad is very different from what we are used to. Here is very different systems learning, and if I start to list them all, it will take a lot of time, but I can say that learning and communicating with teachers in a UK school is much easier, the lessons here are more oral.

So far, I cannot single out my favorite subjects, but English and Global Perspectives (geography, history, a call to take care of nature in one lesson) are easier for me. In addition to studying at Alexanders College, I am actively involved in sports. The UK school gives you the opportunity to try yourself in different forms. Volleyball and football, rugby - before this school I was not interested in these sports at all.

Now I'm not sure if I want to stay in England after graduation, return to Russia, or go to universities in some other countries. But I have time to think. I am at Alexanders College and studying here gives me a lot of choice in the future. One thing I know for sure - if you have the opportunity to study abroad, be sure to use it. School in the UK is an important experience and a good start for your future life.

My learning experience in England began with language courses... When I was 16 years old, EFL helped me to come to England for the first time, when I studied and improved my English in language school Anglo-Continental in Bournemouth. Then a year later, I spent 4 months at the Eastbourne School of English in Eastbourne, taking an intensive preparation course for the international IELTS exam. After the 10th grade, I thought about entering English college, and then to the university.

Together with EFL, we have chosen the best option for my further studies. For admission, I needed extracts of grades from Russian school, a certificate, an IELTS certificate and a short essay in which I told about myself and explained the reason for choosing my future profession.

At the moment, I have successfully completed the IBF (International Business Foundation) program at Chichester College and am officially a student at the University of Portsmouth, BA (Hons) Business and Management. My university studies start in September 2015.

My experience of studying in England suggests that education here is significantly different from education in Russia. A lot is required from students, punctuality and self-organization are required. A common reason college dropouts serve as non-attendance classes. On the other hand, teachers are always happy to help students with all questions. As homework we often write essays in 2000 or 3000 words, the time limit for writing a work is 2-3 weeks. Teachers supply us with everything additional materials on a given topic.

The dormitory at Chichester College has a very good living environment. The British, the French, the Spaniards, the Arabs, the Estonians, and the Latvians are accommodated here. Very friendly staff and a lot of common activities. The kitchen is equipped so that everyone can cook what they want without disturbing others. The rooms are warm and comfortable. Each has its own bathroom.

EFL is a professional team of consultants on any issues related to education in England. EFL staff helped me make right choice and help to this day. I am very fortunate to work with them.

Until 2012, I had never studied abroad, but in our family there was a question about my sending to a college in England for whole year... Initially, I was very afraid and did not want to leave my family and friends, as it was scary to be alone in a foreign country. In order to make such a responsible decision, in the summer of the same year, I flew to the UK to learn and see with my own eyes how it is to study in England. My stay in England started with the EFL agency. I have been studying here for the third year already and I don’t regret the choice I made.

Before my arrival, I did not know English very well, which did not make me feel any calmer. On the very first day of my stay in England, Alice contacted me, we talked very well, she calmed me down, a couple of days later she came to visit me, and then I realized that I could contact her on any question. I liked the UK so much that in the very first week I made my choice - I'm going to study for a year.

The school was chosen by Alice herself, taking into account all the wishes of my parents and myself.

We chose Alexanders College. I studied there for two years, and this school became like a second home for me, I myself asked my parents to leave me there for the second year, where I completed the GCSE course. In the first year of study, it was quite difficult, as a different country, new people from different countries, only English. So I always called Alice if I had any problems. I really fell in love with this college, we all lived there as one friendly family. With teachers, you could always find mutual language, they always helped in difficult situations and loved it very much when I turned to them for help. Now for me the best college in England is Alexanders College.

We lived separately from the boys - boys in one house, girls in another, and there were always educators around with whom you could talk about anything, they would always help and support in difficult situation... In this college, you could always find someone you want to talk to. The territory is closed, the whole day is scheduled by the minute, it teaches discipline, daily routine and plans for the near and future future.

I am very glad that I have chosen this very agency, with which I will go along with all my studies abroad. I know that many other agencies have almost no involvement in the training process, which is very important. It is really a great fortune to meet Alice and her team, you are always sure that there is support and support behind you, no matter what happens, as well as a lot of support in relation to your studies, because it is very important to choose just such a college in England where you will be comfortable and pleasant study, and EFL is a specialist in this!

In England, I met a girl who became my closest friend, with whom we still communicate. She originally came with a different agency and didn't like their attitude. I referred her to the EFL agency and she contacted Alice right away as she knows what kind of support I get from Alice and her team.

Many thanks to the English for Life agency for their care and hard work! If you have any questions, you can contact me at this link: http://vk.com/id22321068... I will be glad to help you!

I began to think about studying in England a long time ago, but it was more a pipe dream than a reality. Thanks to the EFL and the tremendous effort it became possible, I finished my first A-level course at Duff Miller College. This British college(about 85% British) with a medical bias. This is what caused the choice.

I want to write not just a review, but a small guide to studying in England (I checked all the problems described and their solutions on my own experience).

If you are planning to study in England, prepare for difficulties. Here they will wait at every step: understanding of English speech, profile English, the difference in curriculum and finally, the most difficult thing to overcome is exams. Prepare to understand nothing at first, especially if you have never spoken to a native speaker before. Personally, I adapted to the local pronunciation for about a week, maybe a week and a half. But when I finally understood what they were telling me, a second difficulty was already awaiting me. Profile English is something that you should pay attention to while still at home. All concepts are turned upside down, even if you understand what exactly needs to be said and can explain in Russian, then it is not at all a fact that there will be something even remotely similar in English. This problem is solved in a very simple way, buy books and read with perseverance, armed with a pencil (as if you are reading an English textbook in grade 5). We are slowly approaching the last problem, even not so, to the PROBLEM. The exams here are very different from those that we do in Russia. I will give an example: part C on the exam - tasks implying a detailed answer, and so, here each exam / test will last no more than an hour, and the volume of tasks is often more than part C on the exam (for international students who live less than 2 years in England has a trick, these students are allowed to take vocabulary for the exam and add 10% to 25% extra time).

Trust me: one hour, and often 45 minutes, is too little. 8-12 tasks, consisting of several points, with a detailed answer is too much. At first, I did not have time to do even 70% of all the work, but this indicator improves by training in solving such tests, and they need to be done as much as possible.

RESIDENCE

I live alone in a dorm room, but it looks more like a small apartment. The problem is that it is very expensive, such "apartments" at colleges are usually 2-3-4 times more expensive than just renting an apartment.

My dorm has a dining room, laundry room. I feel most of the money goes to house parents, so that the children do not drink, smoke, and so on. If you are independent enough and are going to England in order to study and not have fun (as many of my hostels do), then it is worth renting an apartment. You can do this: rent a hostel for six months, and then move to an apartment.

Thanks to EFL for always being there, helping with college choices and advising on household issues. A special big thanks to Alice.

My name is Leila Abdullaeva, I am 25 years old. At the moment I have been living and working in Chicago, USA for 2 years. For any questions write to me at facebook.

I studied for a bachelor's degree at Volgograd State University, and around the 3rd year I began to realize that in order to achieve greater success during globalization and Westernization, it is necessary:

a) be fluent English language;

b) get a quality education.

It was from understanding these principles that my " new life". So, the first stage of preparation for admission to English university was - passing the IELTS exam. It can be taken on the territory of the Russian Federation, or you can come to England during summer holidays, take a one-month course of preparation and pass the exam at the end of the program. I chose the second option. I took the EILTS preparation courses in Oxford and passed the exam there. After 1-1.5 months, the certificate comes by mail to your home.

Stage 2 - go to an English college to prepare for admission to a university. Many people may doubt the necessity of this stage, but based on my experience, I think this is a very important stage. It should be borne in mind that RF education and English education are fundamentally different. So college gave me good preparation to what awaits me.

My main criteria in choosing a university were:

1) the location of the university is in London;

2) a strong Faculty of Economics;

My college was called Kaplan International College London. Here we studied the system and basic methods English education... We were taught how to prepare reports, projects, critical thinking and, of course, academic English. Kaplan College partners with the best universities in England. Therefore, after successfully passing the internal exams at the college, there is a 100 percent guarantee of admission to the chosen university.

I chose City University London, Master in Science International Business Economics. I would like to point out that thanks to the EFL, I did not have any headaches with obtaining a visa and paperwork with a college or university.

My advice is when you decide that you want to study in England, be ready to study hard and hard. Everyone is responsible only for himself. Throughout the entire study at the magistracy, each student works on a thesis on the chosen topic. Therefore, it is critical to have self-discipline and not start working on it. This is a very serious work, which will be checked by the commissions for correctness and plagiarism several times. But thanks to my college preparation and serious attitude, I completed my master's degree with no problem and with the Merit Degree.

There is a peculiarity throughout the Western world. When a child turns 18, he leaves his parents and begins an independent life. In Russia, unfortunately, this is not so common. It happened to me at the age of 20, when I left for England to study. During the two years of my stay in England, I learned to be independent, to take responsibility for my actions, solve everyday everyday problems, and fight depression. I want to note that I noticed a lot of cases when young guys and girls could not fight loneliness in another country, faced difficulties in communicating in English. Keep in mind that the most important thing in any business is not to be afraid to act and communicate. And everything will definitely work out.

I have known EFL and Alice Thompson since the time of my first familiarization trip to England - “to tighten up the language” during my first year at the Russian university. Then I immediately noticed the professionalism and high level service of this company. The EFL company has extensive contacts in England and a huge plus in quality personal attitude, as they say in England - personal attitude. You can always call and be sure that they will help you and tell you what to do in any situation. It is more than a company / business that helps you discover new opportunities in life, it is your advisor and friend. I left England 3 years ago, but I still communicate with the EFL and follow their growth and development with great interest.

The decision to take part in the Global Education program was spontaneous for me, but, as it turned out, absolutely necessary for my professional development... Studying in Australia, at the world's leading university, is like a breath of freshair, literally and figuratively. Internationalization of education and innovative strategies to improve the quality of teaching English in universities are my area of interest. Now I can imagine exactly what steps need to be taken to attract foreign students to Russian universities and how to ensure the proper level of English proficiency among students and teachers. Thanks to the Program and I hope that its government support will continue so that the newly minted masters have the opportunity to further study in the postgraduate study of the world's leading universities.. If you are interested in education news, then you have probably already heard about presidential program"Global education", which should improve the economic competitiveness of Russia through training young professionals abroad.

The state will spend 4.5 billion rubles on education in England, USA, Australia, Singapore, Holland, New Zealand, Austria, Germany, Canada, Italy and many other countries.

Final approval of the program provisions for state level will happen only in the middle of spring, but already now the initiative of the project is being actively discussed on the Internet and in the media, both by experts and by Russian students and their parents.

What is Global Education?

Global Education is a project government funding Russian students enrolled in foreign universities. The list of foreign partner universities of the program will include more than 200 educational institutions. At the same time, each Russian student who becomes a participant in the program will receive up to 1.5 million rubles from the state of the Russian Federation. for full payment of the entire course of study, living abroad, food and other needs.

The student, in turn, will be required to return home after graduation and work for at least three years in one of the Russian companies, the list of which will also include the largest advanced enterprises and state corporations.

Thus, over the period of the proposed program, from 2014 to 2016, the Russian government plans to attract about 3,000 young Russian specialists who received higher education in the best universities in the world to work in domestic companies. The project involves the development of the economy and competitiveness of Russia by increasing the number of highly educated personnel in the leading enterprises.

Who can participate in the presidential program?

A citizen of the Russian Federation who already has a minimum bachelor's degree and wants to continue his education abroad can become a participant in the Global Education project. To participate in the program, it will be necessary not only to register on the official website of the "Global Education", but also to independently enroll in a master's program, doctoral studies or residency at a foreign university partner of the program.

To date, four core areas in education have been approved, whose students will have the highest chances of participating in the program, namely: engineering and the field high tech, medicine, science and pedagogy, and social management.

Which foreign universities participate in the program?

Presently, full list world partner universities of the "Global Education" project is at the final stage of formation. It is already known that the list of educational institutions will definitely include universities such as Massachusetts University of Technology, California Institute of Technology, University of California Los Angeles, Australian National University, University of Cambridge and Oxford, University of Oakland, National University Singapore, Harvard University and other top universities in the world.

Why strive to participate in the Global Education Program?

First of all, participation in the program is an excellent opportunity for a Russian student to receive a first-class education in one of the best universities in the world for free! Thus, even a low-income, but ambitious and striving for knowledge, a student can afford to live and study in almost any country in the world.

Undoubtedly, an important advantage of the program is guaranteed employment after graduation. Nowadays, when many young professionals find it difficult to find suitable jobs for themselves, program participants can count on workplace, corresponding to the profile of education, in a large company, as well as for a decent salary.

According to experts, the heads of many public and private enterprises are ready to set high salaries for promising young workers with higher education received in a prestigious foreign university.

Underwater rocks. Are they there?

Despite the optimistic view of most experts and Russian students (potential participants in the program), there are also concerns associated with the Global Education project. Firstly, at the moment all the jobs proposed by the program are located in regions of Russia such as Siberia, Far East etc. In other words, you shouldn't expect to get a job in a large Moscow company after graduation from the program.

Secondly, the maximum amount of public investment in the study and accommodation of a student participating in the project is 1.5 million rubles, which, according to evaluative research, cannot cover all the expenses of a foreign applicant studying, for example, at Harvard.

Many students also note a discrepancy between the very strict criteria for selecting participants in the program and the relatively “dim” perspective that awaits graduates after returning from school. In addition, the popularity of the program is questioned by many, because not all graduates of foreign universities today want to return to their homeland, especially to the regions.

Potential program participants should really seriously think about this issue, because a student-participant who did not return to Russia after studying or otherwise violated the contract will be obliged to return all public funds spent on it, as well as pay a fine twice the amount of these funds ...

Objective conclusion:

Considering all the pros and cons, it can be said that Global Education is a promising “project of hope” for many, but far from all. Therefore, before deciding whether to apply for participation in the program just for you, try to honestly answer the question: “Do I want to receive free education in a good foreign university in order to later return to live and work for the benefit of their native country? "

If you answer this question in the affirmative, then, without a doubt, the Global Education project can become your path to success and future self-realization in the professional sphere.

Education abroad at the expense of the federal budget is available to Russians thanks to the GLOBAL EDUCATION Program. Let us remind you that the idea of creating the Global Education Program was initiated by the Russians - graduates of Harvard University. Since 2011, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) has been developing this project on behalf of the government. The project entered the home stretch on December 28, 2013, when Vladimir Putin signed a decree “On measures to strengthen human resources Russian Federation ”, where the project received official status, and the government was tasked to agree on the details and approve the Program.

On March 15, 2017, the Government of the Russian Federation signed Decree No. 298 "On Amending the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 568 dated 20.06.2014", extending the program until 2025.
