Konstantinovka town, Donetsk region. Konstantinovka (city) G konstantinovka donetsk

Konstantinovka is a city of regional subordination, the center of the district, located in the northern part of Donetsk region, on the Krivoy Torets river, 68 km from Donetsk. An important industrial center and a major railway junction.
Located: Ukraine, Donetsk region, Konstantinovsky district.

There is a city on the high, almost steep bank of the Krivoy Torets river Konstantinovka.

At the beginning of the 19th century, the territory on which Konstantinovka is located belonged to the landowner Nomikosov. In 1812, he founded the village of Santurinovka, settling here 20 families of serfs, bought in the Korochansk district of the Kursk province.

In the middle of 19 Vienna, on the land inherited by one of the sons of Nomikosov, the village of Konstantinovka arose (named after the owner. During the reform of 1861, the inhabitants of Santurinovka received 4 tithes of land per auditor's soul. For each allotment, according to the redemption agreement, they are obliged were to pay 150 rubles each.The landowner allocated the worst lands to the peasants, deprived them of pastures, watering places and other lands.

In the late 60s of the 19th century, the industrial development of Konstantinovka began. In 1869, with the construction of the Kursk-Kharkov-Azov railway, a station of the same name began to operate near Konstantinovka. In 1872, the Konstantinovka-Yasinovataya-Yelenovka line was built, which was extended ten years later to Mariupol.

In 1875, construction began on the Konstantinovskaya railway, which was attached to the Kharkov-Sevastopol railway in 1880. The railways connected Konstantinovka with areas of coal mining, production of iron ore, refractory materials, and gave access to the sea. This favored the construction of industrial enterprises here.

They were founded mainly by foreign capitalists, who were encouraged in every possible way by the tsarist government. In 1895, the Belgian "Anonymous Society of Donetsk Glass and Chemical Factories" began to build a glass and chemical factories in the neighborhood of Konstantinovna, in Santurinovka. Two years later, the enterprises were put into operation. The company soon acquired a bottle factory. All three factories formed a single complex.

In 1897, a ceramic factory "Toretskoye Society of Refractory Products" was built, also founded by Belgian capitalists.

In 1897 a large iron-rolling plant was built by the Belgian joint-stock company Iron Rolling Plants in Konstantinovna.

During these years, the village of Konstantinovka and the settlement that arose near the station merged into one settlement. For the factory elite (manager, engineers, foreign craftsmen) the Belgian capitalist shareholders built comfortable houses. The workers, on the other hand, lived in pitiful dugouts, huddled near the factories. The working conditions at the factories were extremely difficult. The working day lasted 11-12 hours. Safety precautions were not followed, which led to massive injuries.

In a glass factory, workers were forced to work near hot glass baths at high temperatures, continuously pouring cold water over themselves. Many, having worked in such conditions for 3-4 years, became disabled, fell ill with tuberculosis. In the shops of the tannery, where the air was saturated with ammonia, the workers suffered from skin diseases.

The positions of artisans and skilled workers in the factories were occupied mainly by foreigners. Their wages were significantly higher than those of local workers.

The brutal capitalist exploitation provoked protest from the workers. At the end of the 90s of the 19th century, the first workers' actions took place at the Konstantinovo factories. On July 14, 1899, the workers of the iron-rolling plant went on strike. The strike was triggered by a reduction in wages. About 100 people refused to start work, demanding that the rates provided by the terms of employment be maintained. The plant management was forced to make concessions.

A significant new performance by Konstantin's metallurgists took place in July 1900, after the Belgian foremen beat two workers.

In April 1929, the builders laid the first stone of the Ukrzink plant, and on November 7, the workers of Konstantinovka celebrated the receipt of the first zinc.

1934 - the mirror factory, which began producing glass for the automotive industry, became known as "Autoglass." In 1937 - 1939. the staff of the plant carried out honorary special orders of the Soviet government:

  • welded ruby glass for the first Kremlin stars, which were installed in 1937,
  • made a Khrustalev bowl with a diameter of 2.5 m for the decorative fountain of the Soviet pavilion at the world exhibition in New York and ruby glass for a copy of the Kremlin star at this pavilion (1939),
  • decorative glass was also produced for facing stations of the Moscow and Leningrad metro;
  • glass and windows for the Lenin nuclear-powered ship;
  • mirrors for the Palace of Congresses and the World Trade Center in Moscow;
  • glass for the Ostankino TV tower.

In 1962, on the basis of the Avtosteklo plant, a scientific research institute of glass, the Ukrainian State Institute of Glass, was created.

In November 1943, an artel "food industry" began its work in the city, which in 1964 was renamed into the Konstantinovskaya Confectionery Factory. Now it is a part of JSC PO "Kiev - Konti."

In 1926, Konstantinovka received the status of an urban-type settlement, and in 1932 it became a city of regional subordination.
