The 173-77th Guards Order of Lenin, Red Banner, Suvorov II Degree Chernihiv Rifle Division fought in the Battle of Stalingrad, leading fierce defensive and offensive fights during the deterrence, environment and defeat of the German fascist troops near Stalingrad.

In connection with the 68th anniversary of the victory in the Stalingrad battle, we remember warriors who with honor and dignity withstand the harsh exam in the battle with fascism, glorified in the eyelids by selfless dedication to their homeland, unlimited faith and patience, courage and resilience, an irresistible desire for victory , the ability to conquer the victory by sacrificing to her for her, even life itself.

The purpose of this work is to study the history of the combat route of the 1311-215 rifle regiment of the 173-77th Guards Rifle Division.

Research tasks:

 1. Explore and systematize the materials of the Hall of Combat Fame;
 2. Consecrate the history of the formation and combat route of the 1311-215 rifle regiment of the 173-77th rifle division.

Studying literature and using Internet resources, we faced the problem of insufficient lighting of this topic. To trace the combat route of the 1311-215 rifle regiment, we traced the path of the 173-77th Guards Rifle Division.

In this paper, materials from the funds of the Community Glory Hall of the Municipal Communications Institution "Self-Falovskaya School" are used.

Division formation

With the beginning of the war in the territory of the Moscow Military District, a martial law was announced, and the mobilization of military-serviceed began.

On July 4, 1941, GKo issued a resolution "On the voluntary mobilization of workers in Moscow and the Moscow region in the division of the national militia." The acquisition of folk militia divisions was determined by a special regular schedule, developed by the headquarters of the MOVA. They were envisaged to have 11,600 fighters and commanders in the division. It was decided to form 12 divisions for administrative areas of the city.

The 21st Rifle Division was formed from the Volunteers-militia of the Kiev district of the city of Moscow, Kuntsevsky and Ramensky regions of the Moscow region. A division was created from militia of enterprises, institutions, research institutes of the USSR Academy of Sciences, higher educational institutions located in the Kiev district. She came into it volunteers of the Souriomilovsky Chemical Plant. M. V. Frunze, Filevsky Refrigeration Combine, Plant. A. E. Badaev, pencil factory them. Sakko and Vanzetti, Moscow-Kiev Railway Knot, CHP - 12 and other enterprises.

The commander of the 21st division of the national militia was appointed a young, energetic Colonel A. V. Bogdanov, a member of the Soviet-Finnish war. I. A. Anchushkin, Senior Researcher and Secretary of the Party Organization of the Institute of Economics of the USSR Academy of Sciences and Secretary of the Division became Commissioner. The headquarters of the compound was approved by Colonel G. N. Perentaneva, a tactic teacher from the Military Academy. M. V. Frunze. Politicalotel was headed by Professor-economist D. T. Shepilov.

In the decision of the GKO dated July 4, it was said that the division of national militia should prepare for the immediate cover of Moscow in case of the most unfavorable move of war.

On July 8, the 21st Division made Moscow, and after a while he became part of the 33rd army of the backup front. In early August, it focused on the northeast of Kirov Kirouzhi region, where he began to occupy on combat and political preparation and construction of a defensive border. Its first combat task was as follows: prepare for defense of the band on both sides of the Kirov Road - Roslavl at the turn of the cellar - Dubrovka - Voronenka.

Baptism of fire

By order of the People's Commissar of Defense dated August 23, 1941, the militia division was reorganized, delivered by military time and was renamed in the 173rd Rifle. It includes three rifle shelf, an artillery regiment, separate battalions of communication and spermnaya, mechanized scatching and other units.

The 173th Infantry Division ranked defense on the left flank of the 33rd army of the backup front. Then the 17th Rifle Division was defended to her, to the left - in the area of the isoch - Lyudinovo - 18th. The width of the defense strip reached 18-20 kilometers, the front edge took place east of the gum river.

For almost a month and a half, the 173rd rifle division covered the Kirov operational direction while in the second echelon of the backup front. And now, when the main forces of the 4th tank group and the 2nd field army of the enemy broke through the defense of the 43rd army of the backup front and the 50th Army of Bryansky at the turn of the Derne River, the soldiers of the 173rd division were waiting for meetings with the opponent.

On October 3, 1941, the Division entered into the first fight with the enemy. The soldiers of the division showed worthy praise perseverance. Over the day, they were dismissed from superior to the forces of a motoromechanized opponent. As if in the ground, he was about their turns.

On October 5, at 11.00, the Germans began storming our positions. They hit them a lot of artillery and mortar fire on them, and then moved about 70 tanks and infantry. The strongest blow came in the 1311st regiment. The infantry of the enemy broke into Starorogozhi and began to develop an offensive, bypassing both flank shelf. The enemy car guns leaked to the forest to the regiment command item and surrounded it. The Cheremal Commissioner and the Secretary of the Party Bureau of Rodioni were seriously injured, and they were hard to save them from captivity. Despite the stubborn resistance and repeated counterattacks, the regiment, which lacked the big losses, could not keep his turn and began to move away. The combat order shelf was mixed. The regiment retreated from the railway in the north-western direction and turned out to be cut off from the main forces of the division. From the environment, the regiment went out with small groups.

For some time, the 173th division kept the defense on the eastern bank of the river to leave, providing waste of parts of the 50th army to a new frontier. And under the pressure of superior enemy's forces, the enemy flew to Bellev, and then crossed over OKU and took the border of defense on her eastern shore.

As a result of the entourage of the significant forces of Western and backup fronts under the Vyazma and part of the Bryansk Front, the south of Bryansk on the approaches to Moscow created an extremely dangerous situation: the Mozhaisk Defense line had neither intermediate defensive borders, nor the troops capable of retaining the promotion of the enemy's tank groups. Going to the Krapivna Area (under Tula), the division received the task to gain a foothold at the turn of the bark - Karamyshevo and detain the enemy.

For a whole month, the 173th division continuously led fierce battles with superior enemy forces. Very often with open flanks and with a lack of artillery.

The first general offensive of the Germans to Moscow was broken by the greatest resistance and exposure of the heroic soldiers of the Red Army.

A some weakening of tension in the situation on the approaches to Moscow in early November was temporary. The German command was preparing to resume the offensive in the second half of November and to seize the Soviet capital.

On November 18, the 2nd Hitler's Tank Army moved southeast to Tula. She broke through the defense front of the 50th Army and launched an offensive on Kashira and Kolomna, bypassing Tula from the East. There was a threat of a breakthrough of the German-fascist troops to Viennev and Zarakyska.

In November 1941, part of the division took part in defensive battles at the cities of Tula, Vienne and Kashira. Participating in the counter-offering of the Red Army in December 1941, the Division liberated the city of Viennence and Alexin Tula region. He contributed to his offensive actions to liberate Kaluga cities, Condrovo and hundreds of settlements of Moscow, Tula and Smolensk regions.

Stalingrad battle

The situation in the summer of 1942 continued to remain tense. The promotion of the German-fascist occupiers into the greater radiation of Don threatened them to the Volga and the Caucasus. The seizure of the Enemy of Stalingrad and the locality adjacent to it could lead to a break of the front of the Soviet troops and the loss of communications connecting the central regions of the country with the Caucasus and Baku. Urgent measures were required to organize opposition to the enemy and in Stalingrad and Caucasian directions. For this, three General Army were deployed: 62, 63 and 64th, formed on July 12, 1942, the new, Stalingrad Front.

Thanks to the selfless actions of Soviet soldiers, it was possible to disrupt all the enemy attempts to seize Stalingrad. But the Nazis had a lot of strength and rushed to the Volga. For a new attack on Stalingrad, the enemy pulled out fresh troops and made regrouping. Six infantry, two motorized and tank divisions who have made a shock grouping of the 6th Army, got the task to force the Don in the area of the version and break into Stalingrad from the North-West, the 4th tank army out of six infantry, two tank and one motorized divisions broke through Stalingrad from the south.

The enemy captured a bridgehead in the area of Werch and in the morning of August 23rred in the offensive. He managed to break through the defense of the Soviet parts and go to the Volga in the Latoshinka area - the market. Aviation of Hitlerists delivered a strong blow around the city. Fires began in Stalingrad, water supply, power supply, urban transport were disabled. Many residential neighborhoods were turned into ruins. Especially difficult situation was created on the northern outskirts of Stalingrad, where German tanks and car guns came to the tractor plant.

The front command has taken emergency measures to eliminate emergency. In the area of the Tractor Plant, reinforcements were attacked and counterattack. I managed to push the Nazis three kilometers. From self-foaming also conducted a counterattack against the enemy breaking towards the Volga, and also successfully: the avant-garde of the enemy turned out to be cut off from the main forces.

The 173th Infantry Division in the summer of 1942 as part of the newly formed 24th army was sent to Stalingrad. The echelons followed mainly at night, and arriving at the destination station, quickly unloaded and immediately covered in groves, beams, settlements located around railway stations and travelings. Arrived at the Ilovlinka station, parts and divisions of the division was to overcome 150 kilometers in unusual conditions for fighters. Dry, sultry. Especially difficult was infantry. The instogs warriors are all 150 kilometers on their humps carried machine guns, mortars up to 82 mm, shelving artillery on horse racing and everyone had personal weapons: rifles, automata, and a considerable ammunition chuck and pomegranate. Not much easier was both artilleryrs, the fighters were forced to slow down the shutter of the guns from the hillocks and, on the contrary, to help the horses to pull the guns on the hillocks in the crossed beams and the Razda steppe ravines.

The commander of the division Colonel V. D. Khokhlov received from the headquarters of the 24th Army, a decree on the concentration of parts in the area of the Sovkhodogo Kotluban. Despite the order to take combat positions by the morning of September 5, the rifle shelves approached 15.00 and immediately with the march entered into battle with the enemy, without waiting for an increase in the strengthening artillery approach. There was an enemy corridor between the servers and self-foam 24th and 66th of the army. It was not possible to eliminate it, but the attacks continued to pull the larger number of opponent from Stalingrad. So demanded the rate of VGK.

The front of the action of the 173rd Rifle Division was determined by settlements and heights: the right flank division took the 1311st regiment on the site: Zavarygin, Arakans; On the left flank, the 1313th rifle regiment was deployed on the site: Borovkov, Popov, height 112.3. The 1315th regiment was deployed in the second echelon in the 1311th Rifle Regiment. The artillery 979th regiment deployed his arthdivizions and batteries in the beams of Kotluban, curve.

The task of the 173rd of the Rifle Division was determined, advancing in the southern direction to master heights of 107.2, 108.4, 118.1 and the farmhouse of Borodin, and with a favorable development of events to continue the offensive towards small Rossoshka.

With great difficulty fighters of the division managed to move forward, knocking down the fighting enemy, and then entering into contact with the main forces of the enemy, the division led bloody battles that did not stop during the day or night.

The commander of the 1st Rifle Battalion of the 1311st Shelf of the Senior Lieutenant Alexei Kotov was heroiconed. The death of brave was killed in the attack commander of the company Lieutenant Andrei Kirsanov. It seemed that no fear was made in this brutal seach, the commander of the rifle battalion of the 1311st regiment Senior Lieutenant Vasily Zherokleev and the commander of the company of the same regiment Lieutenant Ivan Ikonnikov. Ivan Andreevich was wounded. The Sannaster Communist Ivannikov immediately rushed to the aid.

Fierce battles at this turn continued until September 13. Unfortunately, due to hasty training and weak artillery security and with constant domination in the air of enemy aviation, the 173rd and other divisions could not fully fulfill the tasks. But their attacks did not pass without a trace: the Hitler's command was forced to transfer part of their forces from other destinations. Natisk enemy on Stalingrad from the North-West was weakened.

At the end of September 1942, the 173th Rifle Division was regrouped east of the casual pond area, and in October it was still east and closer to the railway (Kotluban station - a train of 564 km).

On September 28, the bid of the Supreme Commander decided to reorganize the fronts operating in the Stalingrad area. Stalingrad Front became known as Donskoy, Southeast - Stalingrad.

During the offensive fighting in September-October month, the German troops were inflicted a tangible damage: up to 40 - 60 percent of the personnel lost German troops in these battles. No less losses suffered our divisions of the 24th Army, including the 173rd Rifle Division.

In late October - early November 173th, the Rifle division was replenished due to the 221st, 292nd Rifle divisions, the 92nd Maritime Brigade and Marshic Replenishment and occupied the frontier on the left flank of the 16th Army of the Don Front and led the battles of local The area of Vala Anna Joanovna.

These were constant attacks of enemy positions, often in small forces - from the company to battalion and less often the shelf. Sometimes there was a tactical success, but often they did not bring visible results. But without loss, they, as a rule, did not affect. Sometimes our losses were so significant that they had to collect on grains that a few hours ago were called a battalion or regiment. But emotions with emotions, and the situation demanded active actions. The conditions for conducting hostilities in the Stalingrad steppes gave birth to a new tactics. Small groups of infantry, saturated with fire facilities, could act more secretive, decisively close with the enemy on the pomegranate throw. The Nazis did not stand the melee, they avoided it even with a numerical transformation into power.

In November 1942, the 1311st regiment received the task of attacking the enemy at the height of white. The assault group led the commander of the regiment Major G. V. Tronza himself. The fighters burst into heights, took several enemy trenches, destroyed 2 machine-gun points, destroyed up to 25 soldiers and opponent officers.

In November 19, 1942, the counteroffensive troops of the South-Western and Don Fronts, the 173rd Rifle Division was in reserve in the 2nd echelon of the 24th Army and was ready to start hostilities against the enemy.

After the 6th and part of the 4th enemy's 4th tank army under Stalingrad, the 173rd Rifle Division December 4 - December 5 is replicated to the western section of the front, namely, the composition of the 65th army with the task of mastering 126.7 Cossack Kurgan. From December 6 to December 30, 1942, the Shelves of the 173rd Rifle Division stubbornly broke through the defense of the enemy and seized on December 30, reflecting several contracts of German troops. It was from this height that the path for the division to the city of Stalingrad was opened.

From January 10 to January 31, 1943, the 173rd Rifle Division participates in the offensive. In the course of hostilities, the 173rd Rifle Division on January 11 freed the height of 109.1, the village of Dmitrievka, the ruins of the farm salty. January 12, together with other parts of the 65th and 21st armies, defeated the enemy in the village of Karpovka.

On January 13, 1943, using the emerging success of the left-handed-old army's left-handed success, Commander-in-Don General Colonel K. K. Rokossovsky suffered a major blow to the emerged breakthrough of the 21st Army and transferred to the submission of the teamar Lieutenant General I. V. Chistyakova two Divisions from the 65th Army, including the 173rd Rifle Division. This army division made a combat path over 70 km from Karpovka to the center of Stalingrad.

Stepping on the left flank of the 21st Army on the beam, the Dubovaya 173rd Rifle Division came to the Khutora Dubinin and bypassing him from the north, northeast and the south and at the same time hit and from the West by 19.00 on January 15 freed him from the enemy.

Then the 173th rifle division, together with other parts of the 21st army, captured the airfield in the nursery, which turned out to be 18 serviceable aircraft, and by January 17, he went to Khutur Gonchar, who after stubborn battles was taken by our parts at 16.00 on January 22, 1942. Division in continuous battles passed 13 days 40 kilometers.

The 173th Infantry Division, advancing the city of Stalingrad, worked closely with the P. I. Batov's P. Batov's right-handedlawing division. Railway Knot Humrak, Farming and settlement Stalingrad was released. Coming out to the village of Red October, the 1311th rifle regiment and the anti-tank division of the 173rd Rifle Division on January 27 met with the warriors of the 13th Guards Division of Major General A. Rodimitseva, which is part of the 62nd Army of Lieutenant General V. I. Chuykova.

Turning in the south of the 173rd Rifle Division in the direction of the 173rd of the Mamaeva Kurgan, knocking the opponent on the streets of Parkhomenko, Kiev, Komsomolskaya, January 9th, and graduated from the fighting of the Gosbank branch building, which was not far from the department store, in the basement of which was Captivates of the 64th Army Army General Shumilova General Field Marshal Paulus.

For the exemplary execution of combat assignments of the command at the front of the fight against German-fascist invaders and the durability, courage and courage in battles for Stalingrad over thousands of warriors, commanders and polymat workers of the 173rd Rifle Division were awarded orders and medals of the USSR.

By order of the People's Commissar of the USSR Defense of March 1, 1943 No. 104 for the manifestation of courage in battles for the fatherland with German invaders, for persistence, courage, discipline and organizedness of the 173th Infantry Division was transformed into the 77th Guards Division.

In the third decade of March 1943, the 77th Guards Rifle Division has now been replied to the self-fictional village, from which the division began its victorious procession on September 5, 1942. On March 29, on a specially cleared raid in the village of Samoralovka at the pond and the old villager in a bright sunny day, the personnel of the division was built by the letter "P". The representative of the Main Political Office of the Workers' and Peasant Red Army presented Comeda Major General V. S. Asclepov, the combat red banner of the 77th Guards Rifle Division. And then there was a festive lunch.

From Volga to Elba

In March-April 1943, the personnel of the division put himself in order, the combat technician was repaired, prepared for loading in the echelons. On April 19, the division at the station Kotluban plunged into the echelons and was replicated to the Tula region, where he was part of the 61st Army of the Bryansky Front.

From July 12 to August 9, 1943, the 77th Guards Division leads active fighting in a Kursk battle. In September 1943 liberates the Chernihiv region and the city of Chernigov. September 27 forces the Dnieper River and leads fierce battles to liberate cities and villages of Belarus. In April 1944, the Division is part of the 69th Army of the 1st Belarusian Front, participates in the Lublin-Kovel, Vorol-Oder and Berlin offensive operations. The fighting finished on the Elba River on May 9, 1945 south of the city of Magdeburg.

The 215th Guards Rifle Regiment, coming in the Chernihiv direction, made a 250-kilometer march and on September 17, 1943 first forced the Desna River, broke through the enemy's strongly fortified defense and freed the settlements of Volyanka, Olshans, Husalka, Mena, after three-day battles participated in liberation Chernihiv city. At the same time, the regiment destroyed the more three hundred of the soldiers and officers of the enemy, suppressed several dozen firepoints, captured a large number of prisoners, weapons and techniques.
Continuing the offensive, the regiment went to the Dnieper. By building empty barrels from captured in Chernihiv, the 215th Guards Rifle Regiment under the command of the Guard of Lieutenant Colonel Seregin on the night of September 28, 1943 forced the Dnieper River at the village of Wellezhez (the Loevsky district of the Gomel region) and captured the bridgehead. During the first day, the regiment managed not only to reflect the strikes of the enemy, but also to 300-400 meters to move forward. On the night of September 30, the Division's command crossed two companies of tanks and divisional artillery on the bridgehead. In the morning, the regiment's division by storm was captured by powerful enemy resistance sites in the villages of lethargy and daws (the Braginsky district of the Gomel region), expanding the bridgehead and covering the crossing of the remaining parts of the division.

Two orders of the Nevsky was awarded the hero of the Soviet Union Guard Major (later by Lieutenant Colonel) Emelyanov Boris Nikolaevich - commander of the 1st battalion of the 215th Guards Rifle Regiment of the 77th Guards Rifle Division. Guard Major Emelyanov distinguished himself during the Vistul-Oder operation on January 14, 1945. Under the command of Emelyanov, the warriors of the battalion, the rapid attack was traded by three lines of trenches of the enemy and held the position before the mainstream approach.

The Military Council of the 69th Army discussed the results of the Volo-Oder operation. And he accepted a unique solution: award all the personnel of the battalion - and this is 350 people! - orders of fame of III degree; all commander of the mouth - the orders of the Red Banner; And all the commanders of the platforms are orders of Alexander Nevsky. And in the future, it is called this unit "Fame Battalion". And although there is no such name in the Red Army, but nowhere else says that this is reborn. During the design of the documents, it turned out that someone was already awarded the Order of Glory to the third, and even the second degree. They were awarded the orders of the second and first degrees. So in the battalion there were three complete cavaliers of the Order of Glory - the arrows R. Azimuratov, Spernov S. Vlasov, artilleryman I. Yanovsky. Emelyanov himself, and a senior sergeant of Perov, who closed the enemy embrasure, was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.

For the exemplary execution of the tasks of the command on the fronts of the fight against German-fascist invaders and the valor and courage appeared at the same time, all parts of the connection were marked.

The 215th Guards Regiment of his host banners crowned with the orders of the Red Banner, Suvorov III degree, Cutuzov III degree.

Grateful descendants do not forget those who gave their lives for this victory, for our future.

The division adequately passed its combat path, covering himself with disadvantageous glory. Thanks to the courage and heroism of the Soviet soldiers and the fighters of this division, our people managed to win, defending their freedom and the very existence!

There were two younger brothers. During the Great Patriotic War, one of them served on the Northern Fleet, and the other was in the existing parts of the Red Army. Some information was about the great-grandfather, and something learned from the base of the "feat of the people." When the consolidated digitized archive of the Ministry of Defense "Memory of the People" appeared, decided to check all his relatives - participants in the war. And I found data on the award of Brother Praded - Vasily Aleksandrovich Gaganova - the Order of the Red Star.

About Vasily Alexandrovich I knew quite a little: five miser lines from the memory book. Born in 1921, he had the title of senior lieutenant, served in the 781 artillery regiment 215 of the Rifle Division. He died on January 17, 1945, was buried in Eastern Prussia.

215 The Rifle Division fought in submission of the Kalininsky front, then the Western Front and graduated from the fighting path on the third Belarusian front. I began to look for information about the division, and it turned out that this is 215 Rifle Smolenkan-valued orders of Suvorov II degree, Kutuzov II degree division!

The division participated in the battles near Rzhev, freed Smolensk, Vitebsk and Minsk. The commander of the division, Major Major Kupriyanov, Andrei Filimonovich died at the liberation of Rzhev.

215 Division dismissed the Baltic States and Eastern Prussia from the fascist invaders, and then fought with the Japanese. The Order of the Red Banner Division was awarded in 1944 for the liberation of Vilnius. In 1945, Division received the Order of Suvorov II degree for organizing the defeat of the enemy in the East Prussian operation. For victory over the fascist Japan, the division was awarded the Order of Kutuzov II degree.

Veteran Kokshari Georgy Konstantinovich recalls: "... We freed many cities and villages, walked behind the enemy. Especially in Belarus, the Nazis buried a lot of villages. We approached the well drunk, and there are full of dead people and children. Just wanted to pull out those who moved, as they gave the "Forward" team and we went on. " All this happened to see my cousin.

In the archives of the Ministry of Defense there was a report on irrevocable losses in which the death of Vasily Alexandrovich was reported.

From the report, I learned that Vasily Alexandrovich was killed in battle and was buried at the Divisional Cemetery 300 meters north of Kussen village in East Prussia. For a short search, they revealed that this is the village of Spring Kaliningrad region. It was possible to find even the photographs of burial and a list of resting warriors there, among whom was a warrior with our last name.

And now I found that the great-grandfather was also a hero (what doubt was not so). From a premium sheet, I learned that he was a battery commander, in the Patriotic War fought from the first day. The premium sheet contains a description of its feat:

"Guard Lieutenant Gaganov V.A. He is a participant in the Patriotic War from June 22, 1941. During this time, he showed himself as a brave and decisive commander and a good organizer in the fight against German invaders. In a short period of service in the shelf, three machine gun points of the enemy were detected in direct participation. On December 23, 1944, when exploring the fight, GW.L-T Gaganov acted with the commander of 128 OTP. As a result of excellent interaction, three prisoners were captured. GW.L-T Gaganov Fire Battery has destroyed one machine gun and suppressed two enemy machine guns. GW.Theitenant Gaganov is worthy of the government award by the Order of the Red Star.

The order of awards was signed by the commander of the Division of Kazaryan P.I. and headquarters of Khoroshev A.A. Premium sheet dated December 30, 1944.

On January 6, 1945, an orders for awarding was published. Four months remained to victory, but the great-grandfather did not live two weeks after receiving the Order.
