Artek diamond squad 1987. "Artek", camp. Children's camp "Artek". Crimea, children's camp "Artek". Time and cost of living

Svetlana Syncha-Forsova
My childhood was spent in Soviet times. Then, the International pioneer camp "Artek" was the dream of many, many children. I was lucky, my dream came true and even twice. The first time I came here as a child, and the second time this year, when
I again returned to "Artek" - the "snub-nosed country" of my childhood :).

During my pioneering childhood, "Artek" consisted of five camps: "Sea", "Mountain", "Coastal", "Azure" and "Cypress". Each camp had its own squads. Much has changed here now. "Artek" grew and the squads became camps: "Morskoy", "Khrustalny", "Yantarny", "Polevoy", "Lesnoy", "Ozerny", "Rechnoi", "Cypress", "Azure".
For every member of the Artek, his camp is the best. For me dear, the best and most beautiful - "Marine".
I think that it really is, because it is located at the very blue sea.

No camp attracts as much as "Artek". It is impossible to forget him. Here not only everything is the best and most modern, but also an unforgettable atmosphere.
friendliness, joy, understanding between seniors and younger ones.
This cannot be expressed in words, the Artekites will understand what I mean.
So they come back here after decades. "Artekovets today is always an Artekite" - there is such a motto in "Artek".

When we parted, each of us had a book "Artek", architect A.T. Polyansky, who designed the children's health resort, there we wrote our addresses and wishes to each other. At this place, at the entrance, everyone cried parting and were going to meet here in 10 years. Then it seemed that 10 years is a very, very long time.

But .., I was the only one back. Almost like Dumas - forty years later and even more :).
This time, I visited several camps of "Artek", but, of course, I will start with "Morskoe".

For reference, "Artek" is the largest international children's center (as it is now called) in the world. Its territory covers 218 hectares, 102 of which are parks. The territory of children's beaches stretches for 7 kilometers from the Ayu-Dag mountain (Bear Mountain) to the village of Gurzuf. In 2016, 31,000 children rested here, in 2020 it is planned to accept 45,000 children.

General view of the coastal area of "Artek" from the observation deck of the camp "Morskoy".

This is a photo from the book by A.T. Polyansky released in 1963. Our uniform was already different, but the general view of the camp was the same.

Each camp has its own attractions.
"Artek" was founded in 1925 and the first Artek pioneer lineup took place on the territory of the "Morskoy" camp.
This is a memorial stone erected in memory of this event.

At the same stone in 1969.
Pioneer detachments were divided into units. Our link with a detachment flag at the memorial stone.
I stand between the counselors Larisa Pavlovna and Vladimir Yuryevich.

Mosaic panel on the theme of international youth friendship. Also a historical landmark.

The same panel many years ago.

All buildings in the camps have their own names. The "Orange" building is located next to the panel. Previously, the names of the hulls corresponded to their color. Now the open balconies have been glazed, the buildings have become the same color, and the previous names have been preserved.
This is also a rebuilt building.

In the camps, there are such stands introducing the historical past of the camp. I think my post will be useful too

There are several such pools in the camp. These are not just swimming pools. These are the traces of a bear who went to drink water.
Who does not know, Mount Ayu-Dag (Bear Mountain) looks like a bear drinking water from the sea. You will see the mountain in the pictures more than once in the following posts.

The bonfire area is the center of every camp. All camp events are held here.

Campfire site. To this day, Artek people of different shifts pay tribute to the history here.

Here you can see Bear Mountain in the picture. ...

This building housed the library of the Morskoy camp. Now there is a pottery workshop. Unfortunately, the workshop was closed, but through the glass you could see many interesting pottery products that were made there.

This is how this building looked before.

New dining room.

And there was such a dining room before. I still remember the milk drink "Snowball", crunchy and melting in my mouth. How many I then bought all sorts of "snowballs" but not one of them did not repeat the taste of Artek. It was an extraordinary drink!

Column - Memorial sign in honor of ZP Solovyov, the founder of "Artek".

This alley is almost abandoned, In my time there was a post here, we were on duty here, checking the passes of the cars entering the camp. We went for a walk along this alley to the forest, where the air is incredible, saturated with pine needles.

The whole "Artek" looks like a giant sea ship with gangways, walkways, decks. And "Morskoy" is like a captain's bridge on a huge ship.

Am I standing at the helm, looking into the past ... or into the future?

About what they did with Artek in a year.

I am presenting the article as it is.

Lots of photos.

You can talk a lot about how the budgets in Russia are "sawing", but the best proof of how really in Russia they turn a fairy tale into reality, I propose to look at the example of "Artek". When viewing, remember that the renovation began at the end of last summer.

The previous photo shows a 3D project, but here is a completed project (the scaffolding will already be removed by the anniversary of Artek on June 16):

This giant screen measures 120 square meters and consists of 200,000 LED elements connected by a single control to reproduce any image. The media facade can work as a full-fledged screen and any image, video or full-fledged film can be displayed on it, including live broadcast. The screen mounted in "Artek" has no analogs in Russia yet, since it will transmit a picture of increased brightness both at night and during the day. At the same time, the system includes an anti-vandal coating and a light sensor - at night the brightness of the glow of the inscription will be reduced so as not to blind the drivers.

In front of us is a sports complex, a huge screen above the entrance

This is the dining room, we will go to it later.

Children go to dinner

Each camp has its own logo

Technology, or rather nanotechnology at Artek, has been changed everywhere

We go to the pool

This is a dressing room, everything is done for 5

And here's the pool, it's just mega cool

There are inflatable bathing accessories for small children

But older children swim for a while in a nearby pool.

These are the showers

You can see for yourself that everything is made of very high quality materials, only there is not enough gold, but everything is there

But the gym, the parquet is so shiny that the photographs are exposed. The gym is just Olympic level.

The entire sports complex has an air conditioning system, in the gym alone there are 16 huge air conditioners.

This is the building of the camp "Amber", we go there later, and now we go to the dining room, to be honest, the language does not turn to call it a canteen.

And here is the dining room restaurant for children. I remember that this building is completely different, we also went to eat in this dining room and it looked, to put it mildly, not very beautiful (remember Soviet double-glazed windows)

Here is a detachment from our brotherly Belarus, there were also guys from Kazakhstan, everything is correct, the camp is international.

Children from the Khrustalny camp eat here, each camp has its own canteen

And here is the dining room of the Yantarny camp, everyone has a different interior

Food for children in the canteens of children's camps of the FGBI "MDC" Artek "is carried out according to the type of" buffet ". The children's menu consists of three sets to choose from. The proposed complexes are developed taking into account the requirements of SanPiN 2.4.4.3155-13 "Sanitary and epidemiological requirements for the device, maintenance and organization of work of stationary organizations for recreation and health improvement of children", SanPin

2.4.5.2409-08 "Sanitary and epidemiological requirements for the organization of meals for students in educational institutions, institutions of primary and secondary vocational education" and other sanitary and hygienic norms and rules established by the current legislation. Meals in "Artek" are complex, five times a day (breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, 2nd dinner) with strict observance of the time between meals (no more than 4 hours). On school days, afternoon tea is delivered to the school.

Form in "Artek" from Bosco

The menu is displayed on the LCD screens above the dispensing line

Regarding the quality of the repair, I think that you yourself see everything, well, for example, this dispensing table is completely made of artificial stone

Children are all positive. By the way, they asked the children for what merits they got here and there really are no "thieves", all for achievements either in sports or in some other disciplines. In general, the future of Russia is resting in "Artek"

The furniture is super, tried it yourself

Washstands, as you can see everything is at the highest level

Dryers, honestly the first time I saw such

These are the canteens near the Khrustalny and Yantarny camps

We leave for the camp "Sea"

Each building has such air conditioning systems.

We came to the camp "Morskoy"

We go to the first residential building that comes across

6 people live in the room, each child has an individual locker

There is also a toilet in the room

And shower room

This is a bedroom

And this is the view from the bedroom window

There is an olive grove in the Morskoy camp

Children go to lunch

Toilet in the dining room "Morskoe"

People with disabilities were not forgotten in "Artek" either, it made me very happy

Freshly squeezed juices are poured for children

Everyone's faces are happy, you can't hide it

Cleanliness and order, nice to look at

Whoever says that this is the dining room, let him throw a stone at me. In reality, we have few such restaurants. Of course cool, dining room with such a view.

And this is how the dining room looks from the outside.

Each camp has service electric vehicles that can be used to move inside the "Artek"

And here is the amphitheater

All sorts of activities are held on this site, and it also serves for physical exercise.

Now we go to the Yantarny camp

What pleasantly surprised me was that 6 people live in the rooms, and not like the whole detachment before

The furniture and the interior itself are just at the highest level, and from the faces of the guys everything is clear that they like everything

Girls have the same room

And here is my "Crystal". He simply does not recognize, he is now like a 5 star hotel

We won't go inside for a quiet hour, it's just as cool there as in "Yantarny"

And here is the famous school "Artek". Children jokingly call her "Hogwarts"

Helipad

The central stadium "Artek" is probably the only thing that Ukraine represented by Yanukovych has repaired and the stadium is still very good. It was made as a reserve for matches in the framework of Euro 2012

"Lazurny", let us say, is kept apart from all the others, it has an interesting history. The rocks of Adalary, a natural monument and a visiting card of the Crimea, are located in the sea opposite the Lazurny camp. In the famous painting by Aivazovsky "Pushkin in the Crimea at the Gurzuf rocks" (1899), the poet is depicted on a rock (now Pushkinskaya) in "Lazurnoe". The painting is kept in the Odessa Art Museum. The Pushkin grotto of "Azure" is depicted in a drawing by the Italian artist Carlo Bossoli, included in a unique album of lithographs about the Crimea, published in London in 1856. Until 1954, only girls rested in the Lazurny camp. One of the mysterious places of Artek is in Lazurnoe. This is the crypt of the former owners of the resort "Suuk-Su" Berezins, built according to the project of N. Krasnov.

Glade of fairy tales - a well-known excursion object of Yalta - until the 60s was located in "Lazurny". In 1985, in Lazurnoye, students of the Ufa Institute began construction of the fairytale town "Pushkinskaya trail" and completed it in 1988.

The first building "Krasnaya Dacha"

A new sports ground with modern exercise equipment was built in "Lazurny"

The site is covered with a special coating

We go to the dining room of the palace of the camp "Azure"

The "Palekh painting" is being restored on the ground floor of the dining room. Made in 1984 based on the fairy tales of A.S. Pushkin, to the 185th anniversary of the poet's birth. The authors of the project and painters, graduates of the Palekh School. Palekh painting is a type of Russian folk miniature painting, made with tempera paints.

Like an expensive restaurant

Again a serving table made of artificial stone

Honestly, I am under the shocking impressions of everything I saw, it feels like I was in another world. I have never seen such a level anywhere in Crimea, and when you realize that all this is done by the state, you understand what a powerful country we live in.

The dream to get to Artek again, as well as in the union, returns and all children will dream of getting into such "Artek". I hope my son gets a chance to become an Artek member.

I would also like to note that the employees sincerely praise the General Director of the Artek ICC Alexei Anatolyevich Kasprzhak, and everything that the best is happening at Artek in the opinion of the employees is the direct merit of the General Director, this is not PR, this is what they say about him ordinary workers of "Artek".

This is also a dining room

Also in the camp "Lazurny" there is a creative "monument to a sausage"

So the trip to the children's camp "Artek" has ended. I showed you only the "tip of the iceberg", since it is impossible to go around the entire territory of "Artek" in a day and devote time to each object. I showed you only what Russia has done in less than a year, it seemed impossible, but as you saw everything is possible. And yet, the reconstruction program of "Artek" is laid down until 2020, but I have no idea what will happen by 2020.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the staff of "Artek" who helped me on my journey around the camp. I would like to express my special gratitude to our guide to "Artek" Aleksandrov Igor Vladimirovich. I used the technical and historical information from the official website of the Artek ICC. Thank you for not wasting your time, I hope you enjoyed your trip to Artek.

P.S. For comparison

During the time of Ukraine, some corps were brought to such a deplorable state:

Much had to be literally rebuilt:

July 22.We got up, as always, early. We went to exercise, breakfast. After breakfast we went swimming, and then we were free. Valentina Vasilievna told us about Artek.
Artek is the all-Union pioneer camp named after I. V.I. Lenin. It consists of five camps and eight squads. Each squad has several units. Near the Bear Mountain are the buildings of the "Mountain" camp. There are three squads in Gorny: Khrustalnaya, Almaznaya and Yantarnaya. The "Gorny" corps are large - one corps for the entire squad. Behind the "Mountain" in the direction of Adalar is the "Sea" camp. There is only one squad in it. It is called so - "Marine". The buildings in Morskoye are small, detachment buildings. Behind the "Sea" camp - our "Coastal". In "Pribrezhnoye" there are four squads: "Lesnaya", "Field", "River" and "Ozernaya". The corps in "Pribrezhnoye" are average: three detachments per corps. Behind the "Pribrezhny" is "Lazurny". It has one squad. Behind "Azure" is "Cypress", which also has one squad. They are named so: "Azure" and "Cypress" squads. These two camps are located behind the Adalars.

After the afternoon snack, we repeated a little the songs and dances that we had already learned. After all, today, after dinner, there are extras.
So dinner was over. All at once, without going into the building, hurry to the "Kostrovaya".
There are already a lot of guys. The orchestra is playing. Little by little everything starts to move. And now there is not a single person who would stand. Everyone, literally everyone, is dancing. If someone does not know something, look at the one who knows. Thus, in addition to what we knew, we learned: "Hali-gali artekovskoe", "Romanian sheik", "Hava-nagila", "Sirtaki", "Kolomeika", "Utushka". And, of course, those who already knew danced.
It was a lot of fun, these two hours for extras flew by so quickly. At the end we sang a few songs that everyone has already learned. And at parting, the counselors sang for us the song "Sleep, sleep, sleep, dear Artek." Tomorrow I have to write off the words. And so the day ended.

Hali-gali artekovskoe is a bit like my opinion, as far as I remember

And this is Kolomeyka

Somehow they danced Utushka

And this is Sirtaki

Today, at the morning detachment line, we were informed that a delegation from the GDR would arrive. And immediately, after breakfast, we began to prepare for this meeting.
Before breakfast everything was as usual. We got up, went to exercise, and then made our beds and washed. But after breakfast, everyone immediately went to the solarium. There we made an appointment plan.
This delegation will only be with us for an hour and a half. And during this time we decided to show Artek, tell everything that we know ourselves, and then bring them to the solarium and arrange a small concert.
But for this we decided that we would not lead their entire group with the whole detachment, but split into small groups, and each group would introduce one foreigner to Artek. On this and decided.
Now they began to prepare for the concert. We repeated all the songs and dances. So time passed quickly, and lunch came.
We got up from the absolute half an hour earlier, got dressed and went to meet them.
The bus arrived in fifteen minutes. We, as agreed, surrounded each foreigner with attention, and went to introduce them to Artek.
I went with Nina Shverova. We picked up an old German woman and took her to introduce him to Artek. To our disappointment, she did not know a word in Russian. True, Nina knows a little German, and we talked with her at least a little. She admired beauty all the time.
Since almost all the Germans did not know Russian, they all very soon gathered at the solarium. There we sang and danced to them, but we did not have time to show everything, because they were in a hurry. Soon we went to see them off.
At the buses, we said goodbye for a long time. They said through an interpreter that they really liked Artek and their owners.
When we returned, we saw a group of people sitting near the dining room. It turned out that these are tourists from Hungary. They came to look at Artek, but no one knew about their arrival and therefore did not prepare a meeting for them.
We took them a little along Artek, showed them the most beautiful places, told the legend about the Bear Mountain.
This is where you could turn around! They spoke excellent Russian. Even without an accent. True, not all, but those who did not know joined those who knew, and they translated for them. Thus, we carried them out. They were very pleased to be met.
We returned to the camp, when everyone had already had afternoon tea, who were meeting other delegations, we were the very last. And after dinner, which was almost immediately after the afternoon snack (after all, the afternoon tea was delayed for us), there was a bonfire dedicated to the fiftieth anniversary of the Leninist Komsomol.
It was very interesting at the stake. There they read stories, poems, told very interesting stories. After each story or poem, we sang war songs. It was very cool.
A bonfire is burning, and around there are such serious, thoughtful faces of the guys. All those who had been quiet returned from this fire, impressed by all the stories and poems told. It was even inconvenient to break this silence. Only occasionally voices were heard. In the corps we were warned that everyone should go to bed at once, because tomorrow we are going to Sevastopol.

They woke us up at five o'clock. We quickly packed up, had breakfast and went to the buses.
It takes more than three hours to get to Sevastopol, someone even said that it is 5 hours. On the bus we sang, admired the surrounding nature. The road took a long time. But here we are.
We went on foot to the monument on Sapun Mountain. There we had a solemn ceremony, where we honored the memory of the fallen heroes of the war. There we saw an eternal flame.
From there we went back to the bus and drove to Malakhov Kurgan. There we examined the outside of the fortress, on which an eternal flame is burning. Then we looked at the diorama.
A diorama is a painting that only covers a piece of the battlefield. This diorama depicted the famous battle on Sapun Mountain during the Great Patriotic War. The impression from this diorama is amazing: everything is as if it were alive. Actually, and how it was created is very interesting. Nearby objects are real, for example, a bunker. And the distant ones are the picture. But what a transition! Not even noticeable.
Then we went to Malakhov Kurgan to inspect the panorama. Unlike a diorama, a panorama covers the entire battlefield. The same panorama is created in such a way that you look at it and it seems that you are not standing on the top of the Malakhov Kurgan.
But before entering the hall, we examined the Malakhov Kurgan itself. There is even a real bunker there. The first time I saw him, before that I only had a vague idea of the bunkers.
When we entered the hall, we were amazed. The panorama was made by kryg. Basically, of course, it is made like a diorama, but everyone liked it better.
Surprised that it is two-story. On the top floor on the site, we were told about the creation itself, about what is depicted in the panorama, and then we went down to the lower floor. There are such windows that when you look, it seems that these are separate pictures.
The panorama shows the battle during the Crimean War. As I said, it is made like a diorama: the near objects, which are possible, are real, and the distant ones are a picture. But about the neighbors. Even the person there is made like a real one: he is apparently made of wax. This man was a slain warrior.
After the panorama, we examined several Sevastopol monuments. We examined the alley where famous people planted trees. A tree planted by Yu.A. Gagarin was also seen there.
After that we went to the Museum of Naval Glory. We saw a lot of interesting things there. Uniforms of soldiers of different times, the flag that covered Nakhimov, various medals, models of ships and various vessels.
Most of all, everyone liked the layout of the legendary cruiser "Aurora". Everything is so coolly crafted: every log, every thread. Beauty!
Then we went to the Volna restaurant, and after lunch we went to the aquarium.
The Sevastopol monument to sunken ships stands right in the sea next to the Volna.
When we entered the aquarium, we immediately caught sight of the pool with seals. There were two of them. They lay and at times rolled over lazily. A very interesting sight!
Around this pool, there are aquariums with a wide variety of fish. There is also another room, in which there are two aquariums with huge turtles and large cabinets with dried and alcoholized sea animals.
After inspecting the aquarium, we saw the painting "Legendary Sevastopol" and drove home. On the way, they arranged a competition: who will sing over whom. We won, of course. We are girls, and we competed with the guys. We arrived for dinner.
And after supper there was a movie "Confessions". This is a film on a religious theme. Very interesting. But the end is tragic, so they returned sad. As soon as we went to bed, we fell asleep.

We have a shower today. We didn't go to exercise because we went to the shower early and we had to get ready.
Bought in the shower wonderfully. They came out so clean, fresh. It was felt with all my body, with all my soul. As if the sun became brighter and the sky became wider. We all came back so happy and happy.
Basically, we didn’t do anything special, but after dinner an interesting thing awaited us: we were preparing for the forum.
In fact, the forum promised to be interesting. We were preparing a part for our camp. I took part in the flag procession.
In general, it should look very nice. It means this: pioneers with a variety of flags from all over the world are marching across our huge square, rebuilding, now stretching across the entire site, now grouping in the center. Then, after stretching out in two rows, we got up diagonally from the screen on the square to the edges of it, several detachments of our own camp ran into the center and stood up, taking the form of a festival chamomile. It was supposed to be very beautiful, but there was a lot of rehearsal to be done. it was difficult to immediately line up exactly diagonally or form an even circle in a daisy. Therefore, we rehearsed a lot.
In the end, everyone, both we and the counselors, got so worn out that they could hardly move their legs. Finally, the rehearsal was over, and we were released to prepare for the lights out. But still, despite the fact that we were very tired, we did not want to sleep.
We lay and talked for a long time. Finally, many began to fall asleep little by little. Me and Olya Pleshkunova, a cheerful and very witty girl, did not want to sleep. We lay down together and talked for a long time in complete silence. We lay and shared our impressions with her, the brightest, of course, of our short life.
Olga is a year older than me. But now our eyes began to stick together. We decided to sleep. A jerk, two steps from Olga's bed to mine - and here I am in the arms of my cold bed. This means that I want to sleep, if even on such a dark southern night the bed may seem cold to me. And now - sleep.

I swam in the sea for the first time! Hooray!
Today is a difficult, exhausting day. The fact is that the holiday is coming soon.
We practiced staging the song "Children of Vietnam, we are with you!" And also twice (after breakfast and after afternoon tea) we went swimming. Very good!

We swim for 5 minutes 2 times. And when we took a dip after breakfast, we also went boating. We arrived at Gurzuf and back. How I liked it. It's just sad that I haven't sunburned at all. The whole mood is ruined. Everything! We met a delegation from Sweden. I was paired with Mila Brodskaya, they took a man, he did not understand anything in Russian, and we tried to say something in English. It seems that he liked everything, he took pictures of us.

Today is a staged song contest, and tomorrow is the final. So we rehearsed all day. In the morning from 7 to 9 they marched, and then after breakfast they prepared a performance.
And before dinner there was a competition. There are 13 rooms in total. The songs "Grenada" (1st place), "Smolensk boy Ivan" (2nd place), "They call me a soldier for war" and "How my own mother saw me off" were very good performances. We went to bed late.Today we have the opening of the festival. I have no time to write, I count on memory.I don't really like this day. Well, what did we do? In the morning we took pictures. We cleaned up after an afternoon snack. And after dinner it was interesting: the detachment crowd. That's all. Tomorrow is girls' day. I need to sleep off. I wonder what the boys will prepare for tomorrow. After all, after all, tomorrow is girls' day.

July 30.

Today is girls' day. At last! At the morning ruler, our boys gave us roses and postcards. And on this day we were on duty at the camp. But we didn’t wash the floors, didn’t sweep, we didn’t clean the tables, only set them. They ate - as much as they can.
After lunch our boys showed us their surprise - a small concert. This concert included several scenes. Very funny and interesting. I really liked it.
Then I went to the Miss Artek contest, but I didn't get through, and it was interesting to participate. But because of this, I did not see the concert, in which only boys took part.
But I was in time for the crowd. Oh, how fun it was!

Today is a folk dance competition. We, girls of the 3rd detachment, danced the "Ivushka" dance. They got confused at the end and ruined our mood with it.

So July flew by. Today is the beginning of August and boys' day. But I didn't like him. We congratulated the boys with postcards and souvenirs. Then there was a competition for "Knight of Artek". And in the evening we danced one dance and went home.

Today is a ballroom dance competition. We danced "Limbo" and "Sambo"

Something like this Sambo danced

And from our squad a solo couple performed. But we didn't take any place. Tomorrow - on a hike.Today we went hiking for one day. Everyone was very tired, but it was so fun that they did not notice the tiredness. I hope to remember the whole trip for a long time.

Closing of the Gorny camp today. In the morning we went to the beach. And then after dinner we went to Kostrovaya. There we waited a little while they came from the Gorny. Together with them came A.G. Nikolaev with his daughter. First, representatives of the Gorny camp, and then we showed the concert. The final was shown at the end. Nikolaev really liked it. That's allHad a shower this morning. And then a game contest. For a certain number of points scored, they gave out chocolate to the detachment. Well, of course, everyone got it. It was a lot of fun. Today we went to the space exhibition.

Today is a very significant day. 23 years ago, an atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. We went to the "Sea" camp for a meeting dedicated to this date. There was a Japanese woman who was in Hiroshima at the time. She is ill. She lost her voice, when she pinned the badge, she could not hit the hook with the needle: her hands were shaking. Very touching, many were crying! Peace to the whole earth !!!

On the southern coast of Crimea, not far from Yalta, in the village of Gurzuf near the Ayu-Dag mountain (translated from Turkic - "Bear Mountain" or "bear forest"), the most famous children's camp in the world is comfortably located ICC "Artek" .

In June 2015, he solemnly celebrated his 90th birthday. We will try to tell you about the history and present days of the camp. About traditions, customs, about the famous Artek people who rested in Gurzuf (Yalta) in different years.

From the history of the pioneer camp "Artek" named after V.I. Lenin

"Artek" rightfully considers A.S. Pushkin was the first Artek member. Indeed, during his exile in 1820, he visited these places. The gazebo and grotto, named after him, still keep the memory of these events. In 1836 Golitsyn translated into French the poet's poem "Slanderers of Russia" in Artek and sent the translation to Alexander Sergeevich. And after another year, V.A. Zhukovsky. He will compose an album, which later received his name, consisting of more than 100 drawings.

At the beginning of the 19th century, Count Gustav Filippovich Olizar became the full owner of these places. He planted vineyards and olive groves in these places and began to call his possessions "Cardiatricon", which means "medicine of the heart." These places were then visited by the author of the poem "Woe from Wit" Alexander Griboyedov, as well as the Polish poet Adam Mickiewicz.

In 1832, Nikolai Ernst Bartholomew Angorn von Hartvis, an honorary member of the Russian Society of Gardening Amateurs, bought part of the land from Gustav Filippovich.
From 1835 to 1838, Count Alesander Mikhailovich and his wife Tatyana Borisovna Potemkin became co-owners of these lands. In 1837, Emperor Nicholas I and Empress Alexandra Feodorovna honored them with their visit. According to the will of the count's lands after his death, they were transferred to his wife's grandson, Alexander Borisovich Golitsyn.

And in 1875 I.A. Pervushin bought the Artek estate from the trustees of A.B. Golitsyn. In the purchased estate, he took up viticulture and winemaker. And after his death he left his estate to his sons.

The history of the camp "Artek" dates back to 1925. One of the main tasks of the young republic of Soviets is the upbringing of the younger generation. Various children's clubs and sections are organized throughout the country. But no less attention is paid to the organization of children's recreation.

It is this question that worries the chairman of the Central Committee of the ROKK Zinovy Petrovich Solovyov, who arrived in Crimea in the fall of 1924. It takes some time to find a suitable place for a future children's health camp. He had already explored the entire eastern coast of the peninsula, but he managed to find a suitable place only in the Artek tract near Yalta.

According to one version "Artek" - translated from the ancient Greek as a small quail, these birds stopped for a short time in these places during their flight. According to another, it got its name "Artek" thanks to the Ayu-Dag mountain. The fact is that the Greek name for the bear is "artkos".
One way or another, but rather quickly, the first tents began to appear near the Black Sea coast. And already on June 16, 1925, the camp-sanatorium of the RSFSR Red Cross Society in "Artek" welcomed the first children who came to Gurzuf to rest and improve their health. In total this year for
summer rested 320 people. The living conditions of the first inhabitants of "Artek" were rather modest, in small tents there were only the most necessary things for life - wooden beds and small tables. Separate houses were allocated for a library and a hospital, which was headed by the chief physician Fedor Fedorovich Shishmarev. Hobby groups are organized. The first Artek tradition is being laid - a campfire.

Two years later, the first counselors appeared in "Artek". Their duties included not only looking after children, but also general educational activities. Children began to go on various excursions, great attention was paid to physical and labor education.

The first residential buildings appeared in Artek already in 1928. At the same time, the camp acquired the status of a year-round sanatorium.

"Artek" celebrated its 5th anniversary by opening the "Upper" camp. Its opening helped to increase the number of children attending the camp by 120 people per shift. And for the year their number has already exceeded two thousand people. A little later, a museum and a technical station are opened in the camp.

The visit to the camp by Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Molotov played a significant role in the life of "Artek". Largely thanks to the efforts of the chairman of the government in 1936, the children's sanatorium was replenished with the territory of the rest house of the USSR Central Executive Committee "Suuk-Su". Thus, four autonomous camps are formed:

  • "Upper"
  • "Lower"
  • "Suuk-Su"
  • "15th dacha"

Each unit has its own flag, song, traditions, events, circles.
In 1939, the famous writer Arkady Gaidar rested in the camp with his son Timur.

During the Great Patriotic War, German troops captured the Crimea. But the life of "Artek" did not stop even during these difficult years. The camp, together with the children and staff, was evacuated to Altai and was located in the village of Belokurikha.
Pioneer life in Gurzuf resumed only in August 1944. And by the 20th anniversary of "Artek" builders in record time restored the destroyed camp. In addition, this year the territory of "Artek" has expanded even more, a new camp "Cypress" has appeared on the map of the children's sanatorium. "Artek" was able to take on vacation 1200 children. These achievements did not go unnoticed. In September 1945, for the first time in history, Artek was awarded the honorary Order of the Red Banner of Labor.

The camp is becoming multicultural. Every year more and more children from various countries come to the Black Sea to relax. Such prominent world politicians as Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi, Ho Chi Minh and Amir Abbas Hoveida are considered an honor to visit the camp; Winston Churchill's wife Clementine. New traditions appear in the camp: “Day of Peace”; "Cup of the Continents" in sports games; there is a special summer international session in the camp.

Every Artek member has his own pioneer book. In which there is a detailed report on the social work done during the month, the circles attended, and on sports successes.
Life in "Artek" does not freeze even in winter. Young pioneers at this time of the year not only rest and recover, not only dance around the Christmas tree, but also study, like all other guys in the country. Homework was not given at Artek. School material was studied in the classroom. Teachers in the classroom did not put their students' grades below "four".

"Bottle mail" is one of the oldest and most permanent traditions of "Artek". The pioneers of the camp wrote their wishes on pieces of paper. After that, the messages rolled into a tube and sent to the bottom of the bottle, which was closed with a cork. Bottles were thrown into the sea either directly at the camp, or a special boat took all the collected messages away from the coast of the "Artek" so that the letters could overcome the longest possible way to reach the farthest shores.

In 1960, when the 35th anniversary was celebrated in the camp, a time capsule was solemnly laid for the pioneers of the coming 21st century. Children left their drawings, letters, wishes in it. The capsule was opened in 2000. The children of a new country found dreams of peace, conquest of space and friendship between peoples in a package from the past.

A year later, cosmonauts Yuri Gagarin and Georgy Titov visited the camp. The Artekites then solemnly dedicated the first cosmonaut of the planet to the pioneers. Yuri Gagarin became the ideological inspirer of the Cosmos Museum in Artek. Samuil Yakovlevich Marshak came to the children several times. In his poem "A Merry Journey from A to Z", he writes:

Every person knows:
From the letter "A" (capital)
Artek begins -
The children's camp is nice.

For the II All-Union Meeting of Young Pioneers, by the summer of 1962, new Artek kopus were built. This is how new buildings of the Pribrezhny camp appeared. And four years later, the Gorny camp complex was erected.

Artek food and "Quiet Hour" are separate topics of our story.
The USSR never spared money for children. And if it was about the main pioneer camp of the country - even more so. Only in "Artek" could there be breakfast number one and number two. Boiled porridge and delicious buns. A variety of seafood. Large selection of fruits.

"Quiet hour" - the obligatory afternoon rest is called "Absolute" in "Artek". Absolute differs from a similar dream in other children's camps by its complete execution of the internal routine. And the point here is not iron discipline. During the day, children are so busy inside Artek's life that they have only enough strength to get to bed and sleep peacefully.

The international Artek movement is gaining momentum. The International Friendship Club is in correspondence with children from many countries, and international pioneer rallies are held. Various petitions to international organizations are signed. In the 70s, conferences “Colored ties at the round table” were held; “For a happy childhood in a peaceful world”; International children's festival "May there always be sunshine!" (1977), which became the prologue to the XI World Youth Festival in Cuba.

Various world events find a constant response in the life of "Artek". One cannot but recall the famous letter of a little girl from the United States, Samantha Smith, to Yuri Andropov. And about her arrival on July 9, 1983 at the Morskoy camp. Unfortunately, two years after visiting the Artek, Samantha died, but Samantha Smith Alley still keeps her memory. Thanks to Samantha, people in the United States will learn about Artek. And after 5 years, 100 winners of the competition “Why do I want to go to Artek?” Come to the camp. and the leaders of the organization "Child of the World".

In the 90s, with the disintegration of the country, difficult days began in the life of the Artek ICC. I had to somehow survive in a difficult economic situation. However, even in these difficult years, "Artek" continues to live a bright, creative life. In 1993, the Artek International Children's Film Festival was organized. Next year is the International Aerospace Festival. In 1995 "Artek" became a member of the International Community of Children's Camps. In 1998, following the results of the All-Russian competition for the best projects in the field of international cooperation in the field of education, the International Competition for Educators in Artek won first place and was recognized by UNESCO as a Project of the XXI century.

Unfortunately, but a fact is a fact, the Ukrainian authorities invested in money in Crimea, and in particular in "Artek", on a leftover principle. It was planned that vouchers for children would be purchased by the regions, but there was not enough money for these purposes and the camp was empty. The almost total sale of vouchers to everyone (the price sometimes exceeded $ 500) saved little. The buildings were not repaired, the territory was not ennobled. Outsiders easily got into "Artek". As a result, the camp infrastructure gradually collapsed.

Since 2014, a new stage of development begins in the life of Artek. The camp is transferred to the subordination of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia. Over the year, more than 20 buildings, swimming pools, sports grounds were repaired and put into operation. Over the next five years, it is planned to carry out a complete reconstruction of "Artek". After that, the camp will be able to host up to 40,000 people a year.

The International Children's Center "Artek" includes:

On the territory of the Gorny camp complex there are:

Gorny got its name due to its location. Mount Ayu-Dag - one of the symbols of "Artek", which we wrote about above, is in close proximity to the camp. The mountain slopes are remembered by the Taurian tribes who have inhabited these places since time immemorial.

The five-story building of the Yantarny camp named after Arkady Gaidar is located not far from the Artek school and the Artek sports palace. In 1966, Yantarny received its first Artek members. The camp building is designed to receive 360 children per shift. In "Yantarny" there are communication circles:

  • "School of business people"
  • "Communication without problems" "Leader"
  • "Young parliamentarian"

Not far from "Yantarny" there is a twin building, which bears the name "Khrustalny". The squad is named after the first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. Since last year, a shift dedicated to astronautics has been held annually in Khrustalny. In 2014, the building was completely reconstructed and modernized. Cozy rooms with modern furniture are designed for 6-8 children.

Complex "Coastal" children's camp "ARTEK"

On the territory of the complex of camps "Pribrezhny" there are:

  • Camp squad "River"
  • Camp squad "Ozerny"
  • Camp squad "Field"

"Rechnoy" is a complex of five buildings located on the very coast of the Black Sea and named after the five great rivers of Russia:

  2. Volga
  3. Irtysh
  4. Enisey
  5. "Amur"

All buildings are two-storey and were renovated and modernized in 2015. Each room accommodates seven people. In total, the camp accepts up to 322 people per shift. The complex has a swimming pool with sea water and water attractions.

Ozerny dates back to 1962. As well as the "River" camp consists of five two-storey buildings, which in turn bear the names of the great Russian lakes:

  1. "Seliger"
  2. Ilmen
  3. "Baikal"
  4. "Sevan"
  5. "Balkhash"

Each room of each of the buildings accommodates 7 people. All conditions for rest have been created for them. Comfortable furniture, air conditioning, leisure rooms. There are two swimming pools on the territory, in which children spend 30-40 minutes every day.

Buildings are located autonomously in the camp "ARTEK"

  • Camp squad "Morskoy"
  • Camp squad "Azure"
  • Camp squad "Cypress"

Life in the children's camp continues to be in full swing. In "Artek" everyone can still
find a job to your liking and show all your talents. A future biologist, geologist, journalist or film director will find here everything they need for their creative development. And also "Artek" is a friendship that does not end at the end of the camp shift, but lasts for many years. It is not for nothing that they say that there are no former Artek members.
