Student and youth science is actively developing at IMO. The institute created Council of Young Scientists ... Young scientists and students of IMO annually take part in all-Russian and international forums, worthily representing our university there, regularly winning prizes. In its work, the Council of Young Scientists largely relies on the activities of Student scientific society (SNO).

The profession of a doctor is perhaps one of the most difficult and responsible of all existing specialties on Earth. Those who help people are primarily stressed themselves. The most effective cure for this disease is HUMOR. That is why students of medical institutes and colleges make the most, perhaps, the best KVN scholars. Their jokes are interesting, sharp, always with a positive dose of sadness and cynicism. Our NIMO team, in which a generational change has already taken place, was no exception.

The fame and attractiveness of the institute is created not only by the success of students in studies, science and KVN. Every year the institute medical education holds festive events for its students and staff:

Annual traditional event DEDICATION OF THE PUPILS Institute of Medical Education to STUDENTS. The students' anthem "Gaudeamus" and the IMO anthem are played on stage.

Freshmen, on an equal footing with their older comrades, show their bright talents, musicality and humor.

Getting a diploma is not just a formality and not an ordinary event in a student's life. This is the completion of one stage of life and the beginning of a new one. Passed long way from student to specialist. And the final of this path is the graduation, which IMO is trying to make special and unique for its graduates, both full-time and part-time students. Usually this event takes place in the building of the Drama Theater. Dostoevsky. Graduates are congratulated by their deans, as well as the students themselves, who perform in the festive concert.

In 2009 was held 1st UNIVERSITY BALL, organized in the traditions of the nineteenth century, in which one and a half hundred beauties in ball gowns and their gentlemen in evening suits and tuxedos danced the polonaise, waltz, tango, mazurka and other dances. Now it has become a tradition.

EXCURSIONS

IMO is doing everything possible to prepare for society not only a good specialist, but also an intelligent person. For employees and the most worthy students (excellent students, activists, students who have shown themselves in creative and intellectual activities), excursions and trips to museums and theaters of St. Petersburg, Petrodvorets, museums and parks in Pushkin, Pavlovsk, etc.

Novgorod State University named after Yaroslav the Wise(abbreviated NovSU) is a Russian higher educational institution located in Veliky Novgorod. The largest state educational institution in the Novgorod region.

History

Higher education in Novgorod in the 18th-20th centuries

The first attempt to open higher educational institution in Novgorod dates back to 1740, when the Archbishop of Novgorod Ambrose (Yushkevich) founded the Novgorod Theological Seminary. As a graduate of the Kiev-Mohyla Academy, Archbishop Ambrose planned to create an exact cast of his alma mater in Novgorod. According to the state, the activities of the Novgorod Theological Seminary from the very beginning were regulated in detail and provided materially. For its maintenance, 7859 rubles 37 kopecks per year were allocated, which was much higher than the financial support of other seminaries in the then Russian Empire... On April 12, 1741, he sent a report to the regent Anna Leopoldovna, reporting on his intention to choose for the construction "not already a seminary, but a large Academy following the example of the Kiev schools ... the monastery of Anthony the Roman", where "there should be 10 schools according to the state. and a stone library for the maintenance of books, and for better order and observation of this Academy it has been determined to be ... archimandrite and rector ... following the example of the Kiev and Moscow Academies ", and also asked" following the example of Kiev, Kharkov and other foreign countries to approve this academy with a diploma. " Syllabus had the same structure as in Kiev Academy.

It should be noted that the academies of that time were not designed to train exclusively the clergy. Their graduates became scientists, writers, officials. The formalization of the clergy into a closed class and the reorientation of theological schools exclusively towards people from this class took place later, in the era of Catherine II.

Archbishop Ambrose made special efforts to organize the seminary library. According to the State in 1740, 300 rubles a year were allocated for the acquisition of the library, which no seminary in the Russian Empire had. Ambrose handed over to the seminary library the book collection of the Novgorod bishop's house, which included the library of the Novgorod Likhud school, and also obtained permission from Empress Elizabeth Petrovna to transfer the library of Theophanes (Prokopovich) to the seminary.

Ultimately, however, the main resources were directed to the development of education in St. Petersburg. Thus, in 1788, the upper classes of the Novgorod Theological Seminary, on the initiative of Metropolitan Gabriel (Petrov) of Novgorod and St. Petersburg, were transferred to St. Petersburg for eleven years in order to raise the level of the Alexander Nevsky Seminary, which in 1797 was transformed into the Theological Academy. Thus, in Novgorod for all the subsequent tsarist times, neither a theological academy nor a secular university appeared. In the 19th century, the Novgorod Theological Seminary had few fundamental differences from other theological seminaries in the country. However, even then it possessed unique traditions and a library of remarkable wealth.

On September 30, 1918, the Novgorod provincial department of public education decided to close the Novgorod Theological Seminary, and on October 1, 1919, the Novgorod Institute of Public Education was opened on its basis, at the disposal of which was fundamental library seminaries.

Novgorod State University

The purpose of creating NovSU was to combine the diverse experience of training specialists by conducting fundamental scientific research and training at all levels of higher, postgraduate and additional education in a wide range of natural sciences, humanities and other areas of science, technology and culture.

On the eve of the celebration of the first university anniversary, at the Troitsky excavation site in Novgorod, the lead seal of Prince Yaroslav the Wise was found, indicating that he, already being a Kiev prince, retained a direct influence on the development of Novgorod. At the suggestion of the head of the Novgorod archaeological expedition, academician V.L. Yanin, who was supported by the members of the Academic Council of Novgorod State University and the regional administration, the young university was named after Yaroslav the Wise in recognition of his merits.

In November 2014, the North-West Bank of Sberbank of Russia opened on the basis of the Institute of Economics and Management of the Novgorod state university them. Yaroslav the Wise Department of Sberbank - "Banking".
